Ribe Fritidscenter has just made an agreement with eco2LIGHT for the provision of extensive LED lighting for all facilities at Ribe Fritidscenter, Ribehallen and Danhostel. The new lighting means great future savings on electricity consumption all over and they will also have far more applications in the hall.
The sport facility center invests over 1.6 million Danish kr. in light, and the sustainable lighting agreement brings many advantages.
– We see it as a green investment in the future, and the agreement includes e.g five years of full service and guarantee on all light sources. The installation is already in motion, and during this month everything will be completed. We start in hall number one, where it will be possible to increase brightness of as much as 1200 lux, which is required for TV transmissions. This means that Ribe Fritidscenter in the future we will be ready to send Ribe-Esbjerg HH’s matches, says center manager Jørgen Th. Jepsen.
Work on the replacement and installation is implemented by the local company JP Elservice.
A smart automatical switch on and off via sensors, and intelligent control is now possible with the new luminaires in the halls. It allows for individual lighting control in several zones – depending on the activity in the halls. Just as one will be able to differentiate lux power individually in the halls.
A great deal of work and preparation has been completed before the investment, and during time, the project was then established in collaboration with the former national team player in handball, Anette Hoffmann, who is an energy consultant at eco2LIGHT and a specialist in LED lighting for sports facilities.
– It’s quite fun to be back in this hall and now help to ensure good light. I have played here myself, and I was close going to Ribe HK, when my coach in Kolding switched to Ribe, says Anette Hoffmann. But as we all know she ended up in Viborg with Ulrik Wilbek.
– It has been a good and well-planned process, where we made detailed calculations around the existing lighting system and burning hours, which shows a good payback period on the overall solution, she says.
We would like to thank the local installer for a good cooperation and we are glad for the confidence of Center Manager Jørgen Th. Jepsen, Ribe Fritidscenter. As mentioned, the work is in full progress, and we look forward to see the great result in the end.
